Terms of Use
The short version: study here, keep your password to yourself, do not attack the service, and do not treat anything here as an official JLPT product or a promise about your result.
Effective date: [not yet published — effective date]
This policy is not final.
It describes what this application actually does, and that part is accurate. It is missing details only the operator can supply — the addresses a request should go to, and the date this text takes effect — and those are marked below. The service is not released while they are missing.
What this service is
A study tool for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, operated by an individual, as a free and independent study project. It provides reference material, practice, and practice assessments, and it keeps a record of your progress. It is free to use and is not a commercial product.
What this service is not
- Not official, and not affiliated with the JLPT or its organisers. The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services run the JLPT. This service is independent of them.
- Not a source of official exam content. Practice questions here are written for this service. Where the app groups vocabulary or kanji by level, those groupings are estimates based on documented public sources — the JLPT does not publish official word or kanji lists — and the app says so wherever it shows them.
- Not a prediction of your result.The service will not tell you the probability that you will pass, and it does not produce a score in the exam’s own scale. Where it cannot honestly interpret your evidence, it says so instead of guessing.
Your account
You need an account to record progress. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or remove an account that is being used to attack or abuse the service.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- attempt to access another person’s account or data;
- attempt to extract assessment questions or answer keys, or to interfere with how assessments are scored;
- scrape, bulk-download or redistribute the study material;
- attack the service — including automated request floods, probing for vulnerabilities without permission, or attempting to bypass its security controls.
If you think you have found a security problem, please report it to support@nihongoready.com rather than testing how far it goes.
The material here
The study material, questions and explanations are the operator’s, and are for your personal study. Some linguistic data is derived from openly licensed dictionary projects, which are credited in the service’s source documentation. Your own answers and progress remain yours — you can export them at any time.
Availability, and no warranty
The service is provided as it is, without any warranty. It may be unavailable, and features may change or be removed. Study material is prepared carefully but may contain errors, and nothing here is a guarantee of any examination result.
Changes
These terms may change; the effective date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the service after a change means the current terms apply. There is no acceptance checkbox, deliberately — agreeing to terms should not create another record about you.
