Privacy Policy
What this service stores about you, why it stores it, and how to get a copy or delete it. It is deliberately short, because the service collects very little.

This policy is not final.
It describes what this application actually does, and that part is accurate. It is missing details only the operator can supply — the addresses a request should go to, and the date this text takes effect — and those are marked below. The service is not released while they are missing.
Who operates this service
This service is operated by an individual, as a free and independent study project. It is not a company product, it is not sold, and it carries no advertising. Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@nihongoready.com, which is the address to use for access, correction or deletion.
What is stored
Only what the service needs to teach you and remember your progress:
- Your account. Your email address and password, held by Supabase Auth, our database and authentication provider. Passwords are stored only as a hash — this service never sees your password.
- Your answers and progress. Every practice or test answer you submit, what it was for, whether it was correct, and how long it took. This is the record the app uses to decide what to show you next, and it is what makes progress and review work.
- Your test and assessment history. Diagnostics, section tests, practice mocks and strict simulations you have taken, and their results.
- An exam date, if you set one. Optional. You can remove it at any time.
That is the complete list. There is no profile beyond your email, no name field, no photograph, no address, no phone number, no date of birth and no payment information.
What is not collected
These are results of a technical audit of the application, not intentions:
- No analytics. There is no analytics service, no tracking pixel and no third-party script of any kind in this application.
- No advertising, and no sale or sharing of your data. There is no advertising network and no mechanism anywhere in the service that transfers learner data to a third party.
- No location tracking.Your location is never requested or inferred. Where the app needs to know what day it is for you, it reads your device’s own time zone setting in your browser and uses it to calculate a number — that value is not transmitted or stored.
- No cross-site tracking. See the Cookie Notice.
Why it is stored
To provide the service you asked for: to sign you in, to show your progress, to choose what to practise next, and to keep a record of tests you have taken. There is no other purpose, and your data is not used to train any model.
Who else can see it
Supabase hosts the database and handles authentication and email delivery for sign-up confirmations and password resets. They process this data on our behalf in order to run the service.
Our hosting provider necessarily processes the network requests your browser makes, which includes your IP address, in the ordinary course of serving the site. That is a property of using the internet rather than a collection this service performs.
No other third party receives your data.
Getting a copy, or deleting everything
Export. Your account page has a Download my data button. It produces a JSON file containing your account details, your answers, your progress and your test history.
Deletion. The same page has a delete control. Deleting your account removes your account and everything attached to it — your answers, progress, confusion records, sessions and test history — from the database. It cannot be undone and there is no recovery period.
Correction. Your email address is the only account data you can change, and it is changed through Supabase Auth. Your answer history is a factual record of what you did and is not editable; if you want it gone, delete your account.
How long it is kept
For as long as your account exists. There is no automatic expiry, because a learner’s progress is the thing the service exists to keep. When you delete your account it is removed immediately.
Children
This service is a Japanese-language study tool for a general audience. It is not directed to children, it does not ask for an age or a date of birth, and it has no feature aimed at children.
The minimum age for using this service is [not yet published — minimum age policy]. If you believe a child has created an account, contact privacy@nihongoready.com and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top changes with it. Because the service collects so little, most changes are likely to be clarifications rather than new collection.
